About Our Client

Our client is one of the fastest-growing holding (Construction, Real Estate, Automotive and Energy) firms in the form of an Investment Group in Central Asia. Based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

They are seeking an expatriate Chief Financial Officer to be based in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Working alongside their local management and reporting to their investment team, the ideal candidate will have a proven background in accounting, finance or a related field, strong analytical and arithmetic skills, and a dependable and adventurous spirit.

Key Responsibilities

You will work alongside our local company directors to provide full financial oversight of our portfolio businesses based out of Tashkent. This will primarily be centered on our largest investment, a construction materials business in Samarkand.

Key duties will include:

  • Overseeing companies’ regular accounting and financial processes including banking, payroll, expenses and revenue operations
  • Assisting in the organization, training and management of local accounting staff to improve efficiency and sustainability across our portfolio companies.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance of our financial operations.
  • Producing regular and discretionary reports for the benefit of management and shareholder representatives.
  • Linking accounting processes with our sales teams to ensure high-quality back-end sales performance.
  • Leading the professionalization of our local staff and the development of a modern and efficient workplace culture.
  • Other administrative interventions as and when the need arises.

You will also assist in:

  • Engaging with the local market to identify strategic opportunities and grow our business.
  • Developing expertise in our products and services and their supply to the market.
  • Liaising with government and external local agencies in our company’s best interests.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • 10+ years’ experience, ideally in an industrial or investment management setting, and proven technical skills or experience relating to business administration and financial management.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Economics, Finance, Maths or a related field.
  • Fluency in English is a must, additional fluency in French and Russian is recommended.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the rigors of an emerging country environment.
